How funds are used.

How we raise money and how it’s used.

  • Walk a thon, Carnival, Grade night out, Dine & Donate nights support our large ongoing school project - social worker gift card and other needs throughout the year.

  • Kroger, Pizza X and Papa John's pay for teacher grant requests.

  • Secret shop pay for end of the year teacher gift cards. 

  • All donations go directly to the PTO, and we have a committee who decides where donations go.

What we have done for 2022-2023:

We are proud to say that our fundraising efforts have enabled us to do the following with the money we've raised:

  • Helped raise $20,000 for the school playground for the upper-class playground a few years ago.

  • Currently raised money for the primary playground and upgrades.      New awnings that will provide shade on the playground and protect students from bad weather during parent walk up at the end of the day.     Added new playground updates such as new balls, balance beams and toys until the new playground gets installed.   Replacing old shed on the primary playground.

  • Plants and planters for the playground and front of the school.

  • Amygdala room was created:   This room will help any student in need of self-regulation.   It will help teach, promote and practice the use of self-regulation, coping skills and support student learning.

  • Hold annual events:   Walkathon, Pool party/splash pad, grade level nights, help with Title one events and Secret Shop.

  • 6th grade graduation:   Provided drinks, snacks and some decorations.

  • Provide school with needs as they arise and teacher grants for teachers, to get supplies for their classrooms. 

  • Teacher Luncheon at the end of the year.  

  • Teacher Appreciation:   Provided teacher appreciate weeks along with snacks, lunches, coffee bar, pizza day and gifts.  

  • Teacher Gift Card:   Provide teachers with a Target gift card for school supplies.

  • Lost and Found:   Purchased a clothing rack to keep the lost and found organized, along with keeping it organized.   then we post items for teachers to share with students and families

  • Teacher workrooms:    Provided a few new dishes and other supplies for the teacher's workroom as needed throughout the year.

  • Social Worker:  Supplied a gift card, clothing and school supplies to the social worker.  They use it to help Summit students and families in need.

  • School Supplies:   Help provided school with extra school supplies.

  • Field Day:   Donated supplies and games for Field Day.

  • Provided Ice Cream for the  Field Day event on the last day of school.

  • Veterans Dog Vets:   Raise money to go to ​​Veterans to have a service dog, 2021-2022

  • Steam and Stem programs that come to the school.  The PTO will volunteer and promote the event to help get more volunteers.

  •  Donate to 100 Cooks Who Care event:     MCCSC Foundation helps families in need with school supplies, coats, provide scholarships and grants for students and teachers.    Check out their website:   https://mccsfoundation.org  to use them as a resource or to learn more.

Teacher grants for 2022-2023: 

  • Bookshelves for a classroom

  • Gym equipment - Purchased volley balls, tennis-rackets, badminton rackets, mini trampoline for the ninja course and a new speaker with a microphone for gym class,

  • Art Classroom:   Provided art supplies to the art room like large boxes of markers and pens, modeling clay, building toys for art stations and 3 different types of art paper,

  • Music Class:    Replaced Xylophones.

  • Robotics club:    organizer boxes to hold the parts for all robot pieces and stations.

  • Spanish online program for teachers

  • Kindergarten annual field trip:    Paid for transportation.

  • Books:    Spanish and English books for classrooms.

  • STEM educational building set:    Purchased for 4th and 5th grades science class.

  • Clay for a classroom.

  • Spooktacular Event put on by the Title one teachers:   Volunteered, provided snacks, and helped pay for additional Title one supplies.

  • Additional Headphones for kindergarten classrooms

  • Spelling Bee:  Spelling Bee award and participation ribbons for students

  • Playground upkeep:    Basketball nets, balls and storage basket for the playground, and much more.
